The Scotts Valley Water District Board of Directors is accepting applications for Community Members on Board Committees.

About the Program: The Community Member on Board Committees Program is designed to engage the community, increase the awareness about the District’s activities and to encourage education on water matters. A maximum of two individuals will be appointed as non-voting members of the Board to serve two-year terms beginning in January 2024. To learn more, click here

About the District: Scotts Valley Water District is a regional leader in sustainable water management and the trusted source of high-quality water for the local community. The District serves about 11,000 people, employs 18 full-time staff and has an annual operating budget of $8M.

About the Committees: 

Engineering and Water Resources Committee:

Reviews issues related to water supply, water quality, water use efficiency, capital and maintenance projects (infrastructure and facilities), property acquisition and disposition, and regulations pertinent to the Operations, Engineering and Water Use Efficiency divisions.

Finance and Personnel Committee:

Reviews issues related to fiscal policies, financial reporting, audits, rates and fees, personnel policies, new positions, compensation adjustments, and potential disciplinary action

Eligibility:

• Reside or work within the District service area
• Be 18 years old, or older
• Have an interest in local government or civic service
• Be available to attend monthly committee meetings
• Be willing to commit to a two-year term

Term:

• Two years starting at the beginning of each even year
• Eligible individuals may serve multiple terms but must re-apply
• A maximum of two Community Members may be selected for each committee
• No more than one member from a household

Stipend: $25.00 per meeting.
