Scotts Valley Water District & San Lorenzo Valley Water Dsitrict 2020 Urban Water Management Plan and Water Shortage Contingency Plan
Urban Water Management Plans (UWMPs) are prepared by urban water suppliers every five years as a long-range planning document that assesses current water demand, projects future demand over a minimum 20-year planning horizon and identifies water resources and conservation efforts to meet future demand. Since Scotts Valley Water District (SVWD) and San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD) are adjacent water districts that share groundwater and have a long history of partnering on various projects and activies they have partnered to prepare a Regional 2020 UWMP and WSCP.
The SVWD and SLVWD Boards will conduct a public hearings to receive public comments and consider adoption of the Draft Regional 2020 Urban Water Management Plan (2020 UWMP) and Draft Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP). Following the public hearing, the SVWD and SLVWD Boards may adopt the Draft 2020 UWMP and Draft WSCP with recommended modifications as a result of public input.
The Scotts Valley Water District (SVWD) public hearing is June 10, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., as part of its Board of Directors meeting.
The San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD) public hearing is June 17, 2021 at 5:30 p.m., as part of its Board of Directors meeting.
Provide written comments on the Draft 2020 UWMP and Draft WSCP documents to Piret Harmon at the SVWD office or via email no later than June 9, 2021; and/or Carly Blanchard at the SLVWD office or via email at no later than June 16, 2021.
