Scotts Valley Water District Invites Community to Join Board Committees and Establishes First Ever Youth Board Member Positions

(OCT. 17, 2019) SCOTTS VALLEY, CA – The Scotts Valley Water District (SVWD) today announced that the District’s Board of Directors has created four new community advisory positions within the Board of Directors and its Committees. 

For the first time, the Scotts Valley Water District Board of Directors is seeking two Junior Associate Board Members to serve as non-voting advisors. Junior Associates will sit with the Board during meetings and participate in all public discussions.

Junior Associate Board Member Requirements: 
- Year-long position, January-December 2020
- Attend monthly afternoon or evening meetings
- Reside, attend school or work in the District service area
- Age 16-26

Junior Associate Board Member Pilot Program

Community Members Repreentatives are now welcome to join committees of the Scotts Valley Water District Board of Directors. One position each is open on the Water Resources and Engineering Committee and the Finance and Personnel Committee.

Community Member Representaive Requirements: 
- Year-long position, January-December 2020
- Attend monthly afternoon or evening meetings
- Reside or work in the District service area
- Age 18 or over

Community Members on Board Committees 

The positions are ideal for those interested in local government and civic service, or those who want to learn more about the local water supply and how a water agency operates. Stipends or volunteer service hours are available.

The application window for all positions will be October 18, 2019 through November 8, 2019
