The Operations Team for the Scotts Valley Water District was hard at work replacing a broken valve earlier this month at the intersection of Granite Creek Road and Burlwood Drive. By replacing the valve, the impact of future water shutoffs on customers would be reduced during controlled shutdowns to repair leaks.

The crew is also replacing a dry-barrel fire hydrant with a new one at the same intersection, minimizing the impact on customers while the water is shut off.

Water system upgrade projects like these, which are funded by water rates, help make the District's water delivery more reliable.
