Junior Associate Board Member

The Scotts Valley Water District Board of Directors is accepting applications for Junior Associate Board Member candidates. 

About the Program: The Junior Associate Board Member Program is designed to engage the community, increase the awareness about the District’s activities and to encourage education on water matters. A maximum of two individuals will be appointed as non-voting members of the Board to serve two-year terms beginning in December 2022.

About the District: Scotts Valley Water District is a regional leader in sustainable water management and the trusted source of high-quality water for the local community. The District serves about 11,000 people, employs 18 full-time staff and has an annual operating budget of $8M.

Eligibility:

  • Live, work or attend school within the District service area
  • Be 16 to 30 years old
  • Have an interest in local government or civic service
  • Be available to attend monthly board meetings
  • Be willing to commit to a two-year term

Term:

  • Two years starting December of each even year
  • Eligible individuals may serve multiple terms but must re-apply
  • A maximum of two Junior Associate Board Members may be selected for each term
  • No more than one member from a household

Stipend: $50.00 per meeting.

To Apply: To be considered for an appointment as a Junior Associate Board Member, submit an online application and upload a resume no later than 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 31, 2022.

Appointment: All submissions will be acknowledged and considered. Potential interviews with the Board of Directors are scheduled for the evening of Nov. 10, 2022.
