On November 5th, 2010, the Water-Smart Demonstration Garden was opened to the public. The purpose of the Water-Smart Demonstration Garden is to help educate the Scotts Valley community on the importance of conserving water in outdoor spaces by retrofitting existing, high water-using landscapes with water-smart landscapes that not only conserve water but are visually appealing as well. By applying water-smart principles to outdoor landscapes, we are helping to preserve our local water source and maintain the quality of the water as well.
